"Brown Trout Master" - 8'6 #5 weight Split Cane Rod

Another bamboo split cane rod that we built for a customer, this was primarily for small rivers and lakes to catch wild brown trout and is 8'6" #5.

It's a beautiful slow action rod and even a small brownie puts a good bend in it.

It is based on tonkin cane and features cork half wells grip and cork reel seat with sliding bands (as befits a light rod of this style) and the double foot snake guides and stripping guide with golden thread that has not been colour treated and red butts. The non-treated thread goes transparent and just gives an accent which is what our customer had requested.

For this rod we rotated the stripping guide 60 degrees from the main guide axis which actually allows for a more natural cast and retrieve.
